Q3 Home Project Progress (#1)

I got a pretty good start on my home project this week! This time around, I'm trying to do multiple smaller images of the same scene in different media. I'm starting with the one I'm most comfortable with to get on my feet, so for now I'm working in acrylic paint. I'm trying to capture the vibe of a really bright, warm lightbulb in a cooler, darker space, but I don't love the lighting yet. I think that maybe I should warm up the purple around the edge of the lightbulb to make everything a little bit more harmonious.

For my other iterations of this piece, I'm thinking about using a raw-edge sewing technique with really bright fabrics. I'm also considering neon pipe cleaners, collage, and maybe glitter or plastic gemstones? I'm also considering doing a pop-art, dotting style one with paint pens.
