My process for this project had a lot of ups and downs. My major crisis was Crayola marker. On my smaller pieces, I like to sketch out the shoes on a piece of paper the same size as my glittery paper, cut them out, and then paint over it to get clean lines. But this piece was so big that I actually couldn't find a piece of thin, cheap paper large enough to do that on, so I sketched straight on the glittery paper in washable Crayola marker in hopes that I could maybe wipe it off somewhat cleanly later. That part worked, but then unfortunately it maybe worked too well, because the marker kept coming up when I painted over it and mixing with my paint. It's pretty noticeable in both of these pictures, but especially the first one, as the blueish-green rings around the edges of the negative space. I kind of tried to just blunt-force my way out of it by painting over it repeatedly, but I don't know how well that actually worked out.
One of major successes was actually glitter glue. When I glued all of my pieces of glittery paper together, there were a couple of places where there was a little bit of a gap where the papers met, and a little white space showed through there. I was going to fill these gaps with purple glitter glue and then put glitter over top of it to get a better color match, but (excitingly) just the glitter glue was such a good match that I didn't even need to use the glitter! That worked out very well for me.
